Youth Exchange Camp – Lekker* Dutch!
The Netherlands 2025 - 110BN
From 20 juli 2025 till 30 juli 2025
* You can use lekker for almost anything. Pretty much anything remotely good is lekker.
Lekker weer = nice weather
The Netherlands is probably a small country compared to where you are from. To make a comparison, Texas as a state is for example already nearly 17 times as big. But as it says on the website expatica.com “The Netherlands may be a small country in size, but certainly not in impact. The Netherlands is famed for its liberal social policies, maritime trading traditions, battles to hold back the sea, robust multiculturalism and leading technological communications, making Dutch lifestyle a mosaic of cultural intrigue.”

During your homestay in The Netherlands you will probably visit many interesting places where you will see windmills, tulips and other very well-known Dutch things. Once you have experience all of this we would like to invite you to the quieter East of the Netherlands where, even though less known, are loads of interesting things to see and do.
You’ll be staying in 2 different camps where you’ll be able to relax and hang out with your other like-minded future buddies from all over the world!
During the days you will also get to do/see exciting things. To give you an idea of what to expect if you decide to go to our camp, please find below some of the things you’ll experience during our camp.
Amsterdam of course!
Culture, Art, Tolerance, Diversity
Be active in the beautiful nature of the East of The Netherlands
Visit Deventer, an old city from the Hanseatic League*
with time to do some shopping or just let the world go by from a ‘terrasje’
*The Hanseatic League[a] was a medieval commercial and defensive network of merchant guilds and market towns in Central and Northern Europe. Growing from a few North German towns in the late 12th century, the League expanded between the 13th and 15th centuries and ultimately encompassed nearly 200 settlements across eight modern-day countries, ranging from Estonia in the north and east, to the Netherlands in the west, and extended inland as far as Cologne, the Prussian regions and Kraków, Poland.
Learn to cook middle east recipes by refugees at Kleurrijk**
** Kleurrijk is a dining & working café in the heart of Nijverdal with a social mission where different food cultures create atmosphere & flavor. A vibrant meeting place where we let you enjoy dishes, drinks and products with a story without limits. Where people can share their favorite dishes, traditions or stories from their food culture, where we do meaningful work as a team and where we offer newcomers a place to experience. We'd love to meet you.
Visit beautiful Giethoorn, also known as little Venice
And create many beautiful memories with your fellow campers!
A Few of the other experiences will most definitely involve making pancakes, burning your mouth on bitterballen, enjoying breakfast and dinner and stay up long enough to see the sun go under with your campbuddies!
